M915 and M872 trailer

Built this early this year but was waiting for decals. Decided on the Mediterranean Shipping Company colours for the seacan.

Just the trailer, or the seacan too? I didn’t add much deck detail as the ‘tainer was going to be there.

Thanks Johnny, the red oxide finish didn’t appeal one bit and I saw stacks of these MSC ‘tainers (SWIDT) on t’internet.

Can you pm me?

Nice build. May I ask where you get the decals for the trailer? TIA

Hi Mike, thanks for that. I found the MSC decals here and all the load limit etc info was printed by Steve, a hobby buddy.

It would be easy to make the MSC decals yourself as well since they are all black. Just get some home-printer decal paper and design them in a graphics program like PowerPoint.

True enough Gino, but I wasn’t decided on the seacan color so this decal sheet made some sense. I will try making decals one day though.

On another note, what’s the best way to get rid of that glare on truck cab windows?

I was thinking of a flat wash………….

I would leave it. It looks realistic to me. If you add a flat coat, they will cloud up and you won’t be able to see through them.

Actual vehicle windshields glare/show a reflection.

You can cut a mask (3M Magic Tape) using a compass and a sharp blade. Base the size of the arc on the length of the wiper blades on your model. Apply the mask then spray with a LIGHT overspray of matte clear to simulate some small bit of road dust/grime.

Thanks Michael, nice idea.

You can actually get knife blades to replace the lead in a compass and cut the tape masks directly
