Magic Factory contacted me and is asking to poll modelers on a question about a new kit. The kit would be a yet un-released 1/700 scale USS Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. I added the second bit about which ship you'd most like to build.

My Uncle was on the Ranger during its collision.

Here is a direct quote from him:

We were transiting thru the Straits of Mallaca when Ranger collided with an oil tanker. During the investigation, the officer of the deck testified that the tanker was traveling west. I took him aside and told him he had to change his story because full tankers did not travel INTO the Persian Gulf. They travel OUT of the Gulf. Needlless to say, that was the end of his ship driving career. We steamed to Japan under our own power and stayed there for about two months for major repairs.

Ranger gets my vote.
