Hi Guys, would like to built one of those 1A3’s commonly seen in Ukraine. It does seem the only 1/35 kit for this vehicle is an old Revell one which appears to be already discontinued for a couple of years (despite a huge aftermarket base). Just wondering is there currently any alternative to the Revell kit by chance? Not sure, but probably the only option to build it in 1/35 is an .stl model from cults3d.
Revell, like many other manufacturers, usually re-release old kits again.
Tamiya do a 1A2, maybe there are upgrades.
Surprised that Revell haven’t thought to release a Ukraine special edition.
Turning a Marder 1A2 into a 1A3 would be a lot of work, though.
I see that someone on Scalemates has one of the Revell kits for sale, however.
A long shot probably, but MBK seem to have produced a repop of the Revell kit:

You could try searching for that also.
I assume you’ve already searched ebay?
Yep, currently there is only one offer available and it’s an auction with repack from MBK. Considering how rare and consequently expensive these kits are and the fact this is still a Revell’s model with tons of modifications needed, not sure if it worth it. May try to contact the guy from Scalemates. Alternatively, there is a decent .stl on cuts3d for around EUR 22 but not sure if my basic SLA printer could handle it… Overall, this is quite a bummer for Marder 1A3 - a lot of cool reference photos are available now, but there is no normal option to build it.
You’d think they would jump on that, so many other manufacturers have.

whats wrong with the revell kit?
Well, probably no issues if you’d like a quick weekend biuld. However, this is still a 1997 kit from Revell with simplified/poorly detailed parts. To get some decent results, I believe a resin upgrade kit from MBK is a must for this instance. Wheels and tracks should be replaced, as well.
PSM made some updates for the Marder 1A3.

Elite Modellbau has a complete kit of the A3. It was quite decent for it´s time.

Have you looked for the A5 kit? It contains the A3 kit with new parts for A5. Hmmm… someone has to convince that some Ukraine company make a new Marder 1 A3/A5.
