Mdk-2m 1:35

Hello model makers

Today a new model in 1:35 scale from the AT-T vehicle family. It is the MDK-2M mine excavator. It was used for position construction. The model was created at a time when Trumpeter did not yet have the AT-T kit available, and the corresponding tracks from Friul did not yet exist. The model was scratch built, everything was built from plastic. Metal tracks from Friul ATL-01 were used and converted to the appropriate width. The cabin was created from a ZIL-151 kit and was widened.

Today something about the construction of the model. As already mentioned, no Trumpeter model was used in the construction. The cabin consists of a widened ZiL-151 driver’s cab, as in the original. The road wheels were used from other kits, everything else was made from plastic and copper sheet. Here are a few pictures of the construction.
