Does anyone know of any Late Roman/Dark Ages/Medieval era modeling clubs similar to Armorama? Dealing with figure painting, detailing, weapons, castles and fortifications, etc?

I was thinking something more along the lines of a discussion group about said eras, involving history, warfare, and personages (both actual, as well as semi-legendary). Galleries and painting tips for figures, and useful construction techniques for dio building forts and castles, and ruins, etc.

You may wish to search for info about an organisation called “The Society of Ancients”. It was originally wargame oriented, but it has been around for decades and produces a periodical called “Slingshot” which has a lot of interesting content. It’s worth noting several contributors have gone on to have distinguished academic careers.
