There was a fair amount of discussion on another forum about this kit. Mostly, why the Audi R8? NuNu already offers a R8 (if you can find it), and there are so many other GT3 cars on the grid. What about a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2, or the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3, or the BMW M4 GT3? I’m sure what it boiled down to was who they could get the licensing from.
Another point that was raised was what the cost of the kit might be. I’ve never built a MENG kit, but from what I understand they are very well engineered but very pricy. People were “ball-parking” this kit at over $100. Will it be worth that? Heck if I know, but I’m sure they’ll sell. And they’ll probably be easier to get that the NuNu kits that are about $55. I’ve been trying to get the NuNu BMW M8 GTE & the Audi R8 LMS GT3 for months!

We had a bunch of the NuNu kits in the store…still sitting on the shelf. I like Meng kits, just got the MP4/4 1/12 scale…nice…BUT, I HATE Meng’s instructions. They draw them so it’s sometimes hard to see the actual connecting join of a part, but what REALLY ticks me off, is they only provide their stupid Meng paint codes or Acrysion crap. Come on Meng, we all don’t have access to your paints and it’s a PITA getting cross references. Lots of kit makers at least give Gunze, Tamiya and Vallejo numbers. As for the price, welcome to our world of the cheap CDN dollar…! I mostly don’t mind the uber $$'s if it’s a brand new kit that’s never been done before, or one that I’ve wanted for a long time. I like the bigger scales…easier on 70+ year old orbs…LOL…!
