Small update after long time. Started with weathering, first some oil washes on the hull.
Hi! I want to achive a really dusty and “tired” vehicle. Started with pigments, some scratches fuel stains. More to come.
Well in mate! currently doing this to my border 2d as well - trying to find the fine line between too much dust/not too little! You’ve done great
Thank You! This is my first paint job after 10 years, I’ve hope to do it well
Looks like you have achieved your goal as to me this looks really tired and well used warriors armor.
Btw, since this is your 1st paint job after 10 years of no modeling then what the heck man? Spill them beans. Tell us how you did it.
It’s simple, I read lot of forums and watch tutorials on YouTube, the rest is patience, a lot of patience
That’s a spectacular paint job and superb weathering. Outstanding model. You certainly haven’t lost your talent from your ten year hiatus.
Thank You!
Hull is almost complete. Wheels and tracks are on place, together with poles for width indication. I waiting for delivery from hobby shop with black pigment for exhaust and clear glue for light lenses.
Excellent, love the work on the tracks and the metal finishes!!!
A bit dark for my taste, but an excellent job.
Working on mine as I type. Upper and lower hull halves done; glued the troop hatch closed; but it looks incredibly well made and would look great if you add the interior.
Excellent!!!
Although a bit dark for my taste, I do rather like the color.
It’s not easy to match IDF color perfectly. As You can see on these pictures the color starts from yellow through grey and greenish. Sometimes is hard to find two vehicles painted in the same colour. Sometimes base color is different, sometimes it is diffrent light, fading from the sun exposition, dust etc.
Know what you mean. I don’t sweat the colors. Just get something close and let the weathering do its thing.
All the work you have put into it is excellent.
Cheers,
Ralph
It’s very close to the happy end, I will add aerials and Merkava will be finally complete
