Here is my effort in finishing Meng Models 1/35th scale Merkava 4M with roof mounted slat armour.
That is a very nice effort. Well done!
Thank you that does make me feel better
Bravo, very good, always great to see a Merkava
A nice piece there Darren- I think you have done particularly well with the paint shade.
Darren this is a very nice job ! The finish is excellent. I’ve never noticed the drivers guides before. Are they on all Merkavas? I don’t think I’ve seen them on any other tanks come to think about it.
Again great job!
Great pic Darren, and I see they have them on the rear of the tank as well.
When it comes to painting I hunted down correct or accurate colours as they are so described, but I tested on some scrap plastic and I did not like the result; I also noted that no two tanks look alike as regards colour and so went my own way. I undercoated with matt black paint from from the painter army and then modulated the finish with light coats from AS-15 and TS-3 from Tamiya rattle cans. the result looks to match close to many photo images and I was pleased with the result
Excellent results Darren - you’ve captured the color very well.
Thank you all again for commenting as it does mean a lot to me which may surprize you.
Nice work! I have one in the stash without the cage and I hope it turns out as nice as yours.
I would give serious consideration to going down the aftermarket route with the tracks
