Here is a photo of my MIM-23 HAWK system from the 1/35 DML kit. It was built Out of Box and won gold at the 2024 IPMS Nationals in Madison WI. The base is Ukrainian with the word “Shield” or “Protect” in Ukrainian.

Considerings the competition at IPMs Nats and to get a gold on a model that is built out of the box is admirable. So, congratulations on your win!!

It look great, but I have a question. Why didn’t you took the AFV Club model. It’s still around and I would have won you two gold medals! (A joke)

That is a good point. THe AFV Club kit is indeed much better.
I decided on this because I bought the kit when DML first put it out. We all thought it would be a better kit than it was. When it did not live up to the hype, it got shelved. When the Russia-Ukraine war started, and the HAWK was given to Ukraine, I was inspired and decided to finish up this shelf queen for a fun out of box build. I did not plan it for IPMS Nationals, but it worked out.
And I do have the far better AFV Club kit to build now too.
