That is a very interesting version of the Stuart light tank. Didn’t realize so many were captured by the Japanese.

" The U.S. Army initially deployed 108 Stuart light tanks to the Philippines in September 1941, equipping the U.S. Army’s 194th and 192nd Tank Battalions."

I would suspect that none of those 108 made it out of the Philippines.
Some were destroyed in battle, maybe some were made inoperable before the US garrison surrendered. I can count to 14 or 15 tanks in that lineup but I can’t claim that more than the
nearest 4 are Stuarts. Maybe the Japanese removed the raised angled cupola and all 15 (14?)
are actually Stuarts, 15 out of 108 is not a huge percentage …

Similar model to the British “Honey” Stuart.

Has anyone here built a MiniArt M3? Is the model fundamentally good? Fun to build?

My rogue’s gallery of half finished models includes two M3s and an M5. :face_with_diagonal_mouth: I really am hopeless. I would rather start a new M3 than try to fix all the issues with the old ones. :flushed:

That picture of the line up is from Minila in the Philippians in 1942. I have heard that 5 were captured in operational order and a further 12 were restored. The largest deployment was in Japan’s incursion into India in 1944 with 12 units in 3 platoons. All 12 were lost. Also there was Burma where other Stuarts would have been stationed. I don’t find any information on how many were captured there. There are pictured of the Japanese inspecting Stuart tanks.
