Is this really a wrecker version or ammo/bomb truck? All the versions I have seen with the internal hoist have been ammo/bomb trucks.
The larger White and Diamond-T trucks with Holmes booms were wreckers.

Possibly used by the French during the Indo-China conflict ('45-'54), but not by the US nor VC/NVA.

Was the wrecker parts used in the 2 1/2 ton?

I know those old eyeballs of yours may not be up to it, but ya gotta read the caption. That’s a maintenance shop truck. Hence the oxy-acetylene rig and other equipment.

Hi, this is a set number 7. This was a crane that could be added to basic cargo trucks to supplement the shortage of wreckers. Not hugely common but they were used. Most commonly used on 2 1/2ton trucks with winches. No doubt this will be sold separately.
