I’ve often wondered why the manufacturers can’t come up with a better way of reproducing machine gun belts than moulding them in plastic. After all, this set comes with a sheet of PE, so couldn’t they cast them in lead or white metal, so they could be bent into shape? I know you can do this by putting the belts into hot water, but you are still going to have “fun” draping them over the gunners shoulders for example.

What, like the ones from Quinta Studio, German 7.92 Metal ammunition belts (All kits) WWII

Would be nice to have in the box for sure.

It’s a shame anti aircraft sights weren’t included for the tripod mounted mg.

Didn’t know about these, will investigate!

It’d be nice to see an MG34 on a Lafette tripod in kit form. I imagine the mount would be a dog to create though.

I think Historex (of all people!) did one back in the 1970’s; ISTR they did three German WW2 figures and included an arsenal with each, but the stock on the MG34 bore no resemblance to the real thing…

Cheers,

The new Tamiya machine gunners set has one (as did the old 70s one). Haven’t assembled mine yet, it will, no doubt be simplified compared with what MiniArt would produce.
