New MiniArt kit is coming soon, 1:35 scale #53052 ALLIED DRIVERS
Isn’t this a repop of 35042 WW2 Drivers, minus the two Germans?
I do like having the drivers as options but still struggle to have them fit properly in the driver seats. I’d love to have the option to adjust length of legs without having to chop them myself as my chopping puts Sweeney Todd to shame as regards mutilation!
Maybe the legs could be in multiple parts? For example, have the legs in three parts with the separation as per the lines I’ve drawn.
I’d also like to see kits with maybe four British drivers or American or Russian or whatever, rather than one of each.
Right you are.
Having bought this set in the past I found out that they don’t fit without extensive ‘surgery’.
I expected to find drivers for my Scammells and GMCs, but itbecame a struggle to get them behind the wheels!
More remarkable is the fact that Miniart has a beautiful set of US trucks for which they could have released a perfect set of drivers and co-drivers (and finally also produce a set of the numerous Afro-American troops which were essential as drivers during WW2).
Agreed Paul as regards having some racial diversity for kits more broadly but more particularly for those for WWII era drivers/mechanics/cooks/armourers etc….
I’d further extend that request to having more options for South Asian troops as there are some kits around but that small number doesn’t reflect the actual numbers who served in either front line or logistics roles in WWII. There are Hornet head options etc…, that can be fitted to existing kits to meet this requirement but I still think main stream manufacturers should consider some more ethnically diverse US troop releases, and other options for South Asian forces.
Sorry, that sort of diverted from the main point of the thread, which is still a nice kit albeit a re-box. And I also acknowledge it is my inability to sculpt properly that mainly contributes to the figures not fitting in a vehicle, but I’d love to have some way to more easily adjust these standard figures.
Thanks.
I am aware of this set, but…
One (!) of them behind the wheel, the rest around!
Doesn’t even come near Miniart’s quality
