New MiniArt Kit Coming Soon: 53049 GERMAN TRACTOR WITH FIELDKITCHEN HF14
Feldküche am Bulldog? Slow Food!
A 10 liter one-cylinder engine could make 17 kph!
A farmer stealing a field kitchen?
No farmer, perhaps a Heeres Soldat.
I am sure someone will find a real life reference but I feel this tractor + kitchen is a very unlikely combination. The tractor could not keep up with a fast moving mechanized column.
Why has no one (but me) ever offered a rubber tired Fieldkltch to be towed by our German Cargo Trucks?
I did start to build a rubber tyred version based on a photograph, but further research convinced me that panzer units tended to mount the field kitchen on a truck rather than tow it. There are plenty of photos showing this and often field built body conversions to enclose the kitchen unit. My take on the Lanz tractor and field kitchen is it might appear in an infantry division, which as standard had virtually nil motor transport, being mainly horse-drawn.
Just an opportunity to make money? Wehrmacht sells anyway.
I think it is one of their fast shots to sell their kits.
Not all of their kits have a historical background, good to see on their MB 1500 trucks in civil service.
But i am still a fan of this company.
Let them make money to help the armed forces of ukraine.
