Miniart Grant mk1

I thought there were only ever three M4 Shermans in Australia, two surviving in museums and the third expended as a range target?

That M31 TRV image was not taken in Australia. Some ARVs were locally built on M3 Medium hulls, loosely based on the M31 design. The BARV was locally converted (from mild steel plate) using the M4 BARV plans, modified for an M3. Three Shermans: a Baldwin M4, a Chrysler M4 Composite and an M4A2 were purchased for trials. Australia ultimately purchased around 60 Churchill Mk.VIIs and VIIIs which were used in the post war years until the Centurions arrived in the early 1950s. A quantity of diesel powered Grants with M4 style suspension units were issued to Army Reserve units.

My goodness. The skill level here is astonishing.

If I had seen this as a kid, I might have never even attempted to model anything.

Heck, I remember looking at a Chris Ellis book (nothing against him!) and thinking that was the pinnacle of achievement.
