New MiniArt kit is coming soon, 1:35 scale #53001 Sd.Kfz.234/3 Schwerer Panzerspähwagen «Stummel»

My serious beef with Takom and RFM is the excess use of PE without a styrene option. It would be nice to have the option of using one or the other. Especially when it comes to floor supports like in RFM ‘Panthers’, or lift handles and gas can holders in the Takom ‘Puma’. I am not looking for a kit to be easy, but excessive amounts of PE sometimes takes the fun out of it. However, I do like Takom’s ‘Panther’ styrene floor supports.
BTAIM, the ‘Stummel’ from Miniart looks like a real beauty and will make a great addition to my stash.

I probably won’t get this as I have the Dragon premium kit to replace the Italeri I built; also the same for the /4. However, I still need a replacement for my Italeri /1 so I guess my money will go to the first guys to get one to market.

However, being currently in the process of building MiniArt’s Pz III Ausf C and lamenting the soft plastic and brittle thin pieces and over-fussiness of some of its parts I may lean toward RFM.

Not denying the engineering of the MA kit but based on my simultaneous building of Bronco’s Pz III Ausf A the MA did not have to be as fussy to build and both are surprisingly similar in sprue layout and assembling. Almost leading me to believe something funny was going on with the CAD; sharing or pilfering files? IDK

This is the variant they have in Bovington Tank Museum and so I have some good photo reference inside and out.

Definitely handy. I have a Tiger II not two hours from me and public access is a rare thing.

Is there anything in the rumor mill regarding whether RFM will be following suite with their versions of the remaining 234 variants. Just not a big fan of Miniart kits.
