Missing a part from the trumpeter M1 Panther II

I have sacrificed part H39 to the carpet monster and was wondering if anybody has an extra one laying around, please hit me up if you are able to help.

Thank u for the update

Hi Mike,
What does the part look like? I cannot locate the instructions for that particular kit, and I only have the Dragon’s version of it and not the Trumpeter’s.
Maybe I can CAD and 3D print it?

Kind regards,
James

I can take a picture of the instructions and the part on the kit and post them tomorrow.

Scalemates has the instructions

Edit: Strange, the Trumpeter instruction sheet does not mention any H-sprue at all.

Is this the kit we are talking about:

Unfortunatly, Scalemates has only the instructions for the MBT, not the Panther MCV.

@Brantwoodboy
Michael, did you lose both H39? Could you make a copy if you still have one of them?

Wäre wahrscheinlich zu einfach?

Nana, ist ja nicht jedermanns Sache …

A happy by-product of eliminating all the carpet from my house - this will never again be an issue.
I’m sure you have thought of this, but in case you haven’t - a strong thorough vacuuming of the entire room. Small parts have a nasty habit of sticking to bare feet. Then empty your vacuum cleaner bag and inspect the contents.

@Brantwoodboy
Hint: consider using a new bag in the vacuum cleaner.
Take out the old, put it aside.
Insert a new bag, find the part.
Re-insert the old bag in the vacuum cleaner and save the
nearly new for the next time a part goes missing.

I have this part but cannot part with it. Please consider @Uncle-Heavy suggestion of making a copy of the other H39 in the kit, if you haven’t lost that one as well.

They are flat on one side so a single part flat mold can be made using gasket making material. Brush it on no thicker than 1/8" at a time. Let that layer cure then another layer until you have a mold with the thickness you can work with. Then cast a new part with epoxy adhesive. Both of these products are inexpensive and available.

Unfortunately I just pushed on and kept building (I prebuild models at work) and used the other one already I should have thought about that.

All great ideas I’ll try to go with @Petition2Gods idea and see if this is a 3d printer solvable problem. The biggest issue is a do a lot of prebuilding at work and don’t have access to the cleaners vacuums so I might just try to scratch build a suitable replacement if all else fails.

Hell, bring the the opposite part on the 26th and I’ll make your missing part while you wait. I’m thinking some .040 and a small length of half round, which I have in several sizes.
I just get to shoot your M1911A1. :grinning:

do I need to bring the mine roller with?

Why not? We’ll see if it fits.
