Box just arrived (on sale from Andy’s at ninty bucks!) and as I was reviewing the instruction booklet, there did not appear to be the Pivot Steer Levers and their associated hybraulic reservoirs, etc. These mount to the inside of the front armor plate, and they contribute to that cluttered yet cozy driver’s compartment on the 113. Now, these were present on the base M113, as well as the A1. My times with tracks ended before the A2 was fielded so I can’t comment on those, or the steering yoke varient that replaced the lateral/brake levers.
Never thought of it as “cluttered yet cozy” but I love the dscription. LOL. Maybe hot yet dusty, uncomfortable yet better than walking, rough yet painful…
I don’t understand, I did a build here on Andys M113 and it had 2 steering levers mounted to the floor in front of the Drivers seat. What am I missing ?

On the front plate on either side of the laterals (the steering levers) are the pivot steer brake handles. Their primary use was for steering while afloat. A secondary use would be for an extremely tight or pivot turn. Did you ever drive an M113? I have the kit as well will have to decide if they are worth adding.
Sherb, thanks for the reference. When I checked that step picture, I realized that it is showing the parts in that step rotated 180 degrees, upside down. Yes, the parts ARE there!!
