Mitsubishi a6m5 zero type 52 - tamiya 1/32

Hi everyone.
The project has been dormant for more than two months due to the “evaporation” of one of the main landing‑gear wheels, which had to be ordered from Japan — and judging by the delivery time, it probably travelled here by rowing…
In the meantime, I kept myself busy with several other steps, but the “dead time” was really far too long!
So here’s a quick overview of these intermediate steps. Just a couple of clarifications and comments now that the build is complete. The kit is a Tamiya — as stated in the title — and that alone already says quite a lot: flawless engineering, fully retractable main and tail landing gear, the option to display the aircraft either on the ground or in flight (with the gear retracted) using the dedicated stand, and absolutely perfect fit throughout. As has become my habit lately, everything was painted by hand except for the stencils: the Hinomarus, the yellow leading‑edge bands, and the tail identification numbers were all done with masks.
Right then, time for a few photos.

And finally, we’re ready for inspection…

That’s all guys! Your turn — comments and constructive criticism are very welcome!
Cheers Dan

Looking at your Aircraft … they’re amazing.
I need to get my Wings on the bench, at least finish what was started.

Looks great! i liked that you went with the “Destressed” look. It seems like 70% of the pictures I’ve seen of Japanese planes have flaked metal. (Like they never heard of primer?)

Thank you Glenn. Really appreciated.
I’d say well over 70%: I think they were short of just about everything to even consider priming their aircraft!
