Surprise to me, I found out today the Stevens International hobby distributor has shut down after 50 years.

I believe they have closed their brick and mortar store AAA Hobbies as well . IIRC they were the distributor for Trumpeter among others . Online presence as Mega Hobby .

You may thank them for the MSRPs of Trumpeter, Hobby Boss, and ILK, worldwide. The Chinese relied on them to set their non-domestic prices because they did not have a handle on the world hobby market. At the time, kits like the Trumpeter KVs were going for something like $9 in the PRC. Stevens advised them to set the MSRPs much higher, at the limit of, or above, what the market will bear.

When those KVs first came out you could get them here in the UK for about £12 - those were the days!
