Hi everyone,
if you’re anywhere near the Philadelphia metro area August 3rd the battleship USS New Jersey is hosting their “modelcon 6” model show onboard in the ships ward room . While mainly a ship model show due to the location , I’ve participated in years past as an armor modeler and had a great time interacting with the ship’s visitors as well as the other model builders. A big bonus is if you participate you’re allowed to tour the ship for free.

One of the greatest adventures of my life is doing a sleep aboard trip with my Boy Scouts. The NJ docents do a great job and the ship was in really great shape, even if the bunks weren’t made for long beings such as myself.
Yes, I can attest to that. Did the scout sleep over in 2018 and think I still have a dent on the top of my head from bashing it numerous times on the corner of duct work 6 inches above it.
