All models have their own needs.
A tank may have a solid topside but then the builder adds a lot of stovage and the solid area is gone

I think the model will be safer if the driver keeps his eyes on the road.
In a “normal” car the floor behind the passenger or driver seat is a safer place.

Thank you all for your answers, I have decided to go with the towel in a box method, and then adding some foam blocks to prevent the models from moving around:

I would lay the t-34 flat and depending on how you drive, all those foam blocks are overkill. You can get a few more kits in the box but it’s ok to get more boxes if need be, less is more imho.
Looks good,I would still add the cotton candy looking fluff that I mentioned to secure it.
Both going there and coming back went well.
