In school we were taught that chemistry had two branches: organic and non-organic chemistry.
I preferred the third branch: explosive chemistry
Ah school experiments! Biology and the infamous frog and straw incident.
Ether will do.
evaporates too fast ā¦
āpithyā
When that failed we used scissors and cut the spine through the mouth.
We had to settle for fish ā¦
We had an interesting lab fire during organic chemistry. Some genius was in a hurry and used a Bunsen burner instead of the electric heating mantel to heat his beaker of solution being purified with ether. The flames reached the ceiling!
Sometimes you have so much demo you run out of shi*t to blow upā¦
So you end up doing crazy things:
Each man had so much demo to himself we ended up seeing if we could make a hole in the earth.
The bulldozer operator at Fort Carson refused to fill in the hole. We had to bribe him with alcohol. What was left of it anywayā¦
Iāve been noticing that also! Not impressed at all!
Also, here is a great video comparing this war to the Winter War:

It takes heat and pressure to set it off. If ignited it will burn merrily away, but will not detonate. I think from the oxidation on some of the blocks they may very well have burned. That kind of oxidation doesnāt just come from paint burning off.
As you can see from the above post, Iām no demo expert, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express a time or two.
On another part of the interweb, I read Britian is to give surplus Challenger II tanks to Poland, who in turn will supply T-72 tanks to Ukraine. This raises a couple of interesting pointsā¦ Poland having the most mixed fleet of MBT with leopard, Abrams, and T-72 in the world; and counties passing surplus equipment thatās passed its use by date to Ukraine. Because Belgium is to supply M109 and Czech Republic is supplying 2S1 to Ukraine, the logistics and training needed will be a management nightmare. Will make for some good modelling opportunities.
Are these going to be loans, or permanent?
I can see them being loans in the short term until the M1A2s are delivered. Iād like to see Poland start supplying PT-91s as well, to give a level of parity.
Damon.
France is going to send CAESAR self-propelled 155 mm gun-howitzers, which are not really out-of-date equipmentā¦

Did anybody see pictures of the Dana except the ones from the previous testing in Ukraine before the war?
Either in Ukraine or on the way to the Ukrainian border?
Very nice.

interesting report and the fact that the British anti tank missiles have boosted their confidence.
Iām hearing reports that the British are supplying brimstone missiles as well.
Thatās going to hurt at a good range.
theyāre converting the brimstone missiles to be launched from ground based launchers as itās a air to surface in use with thr RAF.
