very cool where can one get the track retaining ring with out having to get original Tamiya kit
?

The retaining ring was included in several different kits, that you may already even have. If not, someone on this forum may have a set they don’t need.
The ring is also included in several PE sets, if you prefer the metal look.

all MY M1 builds are the RFM kits an i havnt seen any track retaining ring in the kits unless is in the ODS M1A1 kit from RFM

wouldn’t know. i’m not a modeler, I just found the images here to be very useful for my own thing and decided to contribute as well

The rings are in the Tamiya and Academy kits, at least the older ones. The Panda/Zimi kit had it. The AMT/ESCI M1 had it (yes, the kits suck, but the ring is usable). Trumpeter had it.
Several Eduard PE sets include it.

I thought similar.

Visual que? The groups of ERA blocks give an impression of Panther zimmerit with an oversized block pattern.
