Models in films and TV

Not directly a model (although they were used in the movie), “Airplane” classic scene where Lloyd Bridges sniffs mode glue. Looks like Testors wood cement, and not the strong stuff.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue. Airplane 1080P HD (youtube.com)

We were talking about this episode last night, the bit where he bought his girlfriend the poster from the jewellers and the mounting hook!

Yes. It is one of the few episodes where ‘Mr Bean’ actually speaks more than a couple of words.

Eastenders, episode 6907 (13 May 2024). George Knight played by Colin Salmon resolutely model making while the women in his life all try to persuade him not to do… whatever it is he’s planning. “We used to put bangers in these on bonfire night.”
What kit is it?

I am going to spend zero time looking it up but my initial thought was SU-27.

Reckon you’re spot on… Revell 1/144 scale SU-27 Flanker. There’s a brief view of the instructions under his phone:

I don’t know if anyone has posted this already or not, but I just happened to remember this scene from the movie “Stripes” with Captain Stillman.

Star Trek TNG ‘Elementary, Dear Data’, La Forge built a model of HMS Victory as a gift for the captain of the USS Victory. His former CO if I remember right. Apparently the model belonged to Gene Rodenberry.

Wasn’t there an episode where that model got destroyed?

It was the episode where the holographic Moriarty managed to take control of the Enterprise. I’ve got a vague recollection it might’ve been destroyed in all the bedlam he caused!
I’d have to rewatch it to confirm.

It was “Battlestar Galactica”. Edward James Olmos destroyed a $200,000-museum piece thinking it was a cheap replica.

Well, to coin a phrase: whoops!
