It’s a very interesting concept and looks like a nice kit. But looking at the construction of the bridge, it’s not that straightforward to add additional bays. Those main triangulated cross members will need cutting and splicing by the looks of it, as they have chosen to add short lengths at each end, so putting two or three (or more) kits together will be a bit of an undertaking. It might have been better if they had made the kit literally just one bay.

Hello. Thank you for your interest. But I am sorry to say that you are mistaken. This section is completely exploded. You can join all the modules you want without having to cut a single piece. Everything is designed to join sections. And at the end of the section, those small sections that you have been able to understand were glued are added. If you check the image of the exploded view with the 159 pieces, you will be able to see that everything is separated. Thank you very much for your attention.

It is the bridge at Remagen, real name the ‘The Ludendorff Bridge’, the battle for the bridge used some of the most modern military kit, Italian divers caught with better diving kit, Jets were used, the Pershing made an appearance. Very interesting reading, the kit looks really good, but and end piece would be good, then the tunnel, German trains, I do not normally build WW2 German but this is tempting.

I visited it all one weekend back in 1980; I stayed at a campsite just down the road from the bridge - or rather - what’s left, with a girlfriend. We crossed the river by ferry to get up to the Erpeler Ley, the high feature opposite, which gave us a fantastic view. There were also the remains of a base for a Flak gun of some sort (I used to know but have forgotten).

In one of the bridge towers there was a small museum.

All very atmospheric - and a welcome break from weekend garrison life and the usual tedium of industrial level drinking(!)

Nothing to do with the model - sorry folks.

Thank you very much for your words. The initial idea was to design it with the towers. But due to the dimensions and costs, we decided to make only one central module. We also thought about making a module for the pillar area, but the problem was the same. The dimensions it would reach, together with the upper arch. Greetings.

Unfortunately we were not able to visit it in person like you. For the design, we based it on images like the one attached. We are sorry that you did not like it.

No - you misunderstand me! I was apologising for my post - the story if you like - having nothing to do with the model.

I am sure the model is just fine; I was just telling a story.

Thanks. Sorry for the confusion.

This photo gives somewhat of an impression of the size of those towers:

It was, and is I suppose, a very imposing structure; I was just blown away by the atmospherics when I visited all those years ago.

I think at the time I had an After the Battle magazine covering the battle, but I might be confusing that with my visit to La Gleize and the Tiger II.

I had some good times at that particular posting.

Bridges tend to be imposing.
A double track railway bridge gets big really fast …
