I’ve seen a lot of videos of armor texture being done by mixing model glue and tamiya putty. Can the same method be used using Mr Putty?
Just try it: take a small amount of putty and mix it with some glue. If this works, you can use it.
If you intend to mix up a lot, it’ll be rather cheaper to find a solvent other than liquid model cement, though. Here in the Netherlands, for example, in many hardware stores you can buy 250 ml of Bison Ontvetter (“degreaser”) for about the same price as 40 ml of Tamiya Extra Thin, and it will work fine for thinning putty as well as glueing plastic parts. Just refill an empty cement bottle with it and away you go (though it’s thinner and more volatile than TET, so I use TET when I want something less thin than usual ).
@Jakko that sounds like an interesting method. I’m going to try the way I’ve been seeing night shift do it. I have a few banged up brushes so i figured it’d be a fun project to try. Maybe I’ll do one with Mr putty and another one with tamiya putty and show the results.
