MRE Carton Dimensions (early type)

I’ve been trying to pin down the dimensions of the early (first generation?) MRE cartons, common in the 1980s (the typical cardboard cartons you see on vehicles of that era). I can find plenty of dimensions for the more modern (squarer) MRE cartons, but not of those earlier, flatter and wider boxes.

The early cartons look similar in size the the previous MCI ration packs, but I could be wrong?

Can anyone assist with the basic height/width/depth of the MRE cartons please?

Thanks,
John

The old “Brown Bag” MRE cases that were seen during the first Gulf War.

I wish I could provide the dimensions.

I would like to see MRE boxes early and late in resin with decals. I really HATE cutting, folding and glueing paper parts.. And MRE pouches with decals.

D-Toys… I think someone took over the rights to produce the set, DEF Model perhaps.

Anyway, I think some are still available on eBay.

That’s easy - just build them from plastic card…

Scratchbuilt 20mm ammo can and current MRE carton (the latter is a solid block of plastic, with a couple of thin Evergreen plastic strips glued across the top to look like the cardboard flaps). Then I created stencil decals on my computer and printed them out at scale.

The Abrams is Tamiya’s 1/48scale M1A2
