Mustang saddle bag

Anybody have close up photos , sketches, or general intel on the luggage/ storage rack under the canopy of the P-51Ds? Hand full of photos I’ve found do not show much detail. Near as I can tell it ran from the rear canopy frame to the arched frame, over the radio, and had a canvas (?) bag attached.

Merci, once again. Need to change the title after “Frenchy” from “patron” to “God”… Unfortunately the Red Roo parts seem as rare as Muslim swineherds. (Red Roo has them for about $7… and $25 shipping!!!) Looks easy enough to scratch build though.

Ditto. Here are two other views of the Red Roo parts

On a side note, the “ferry pack” is often seen fitted to Australian P-51’s in Korea

Wonder if they carried survival kit in them for if they bellied in. Be more goodies than they could have on them if parachuting out.
Have an Aussie F-51 (or did they retain the P?) in the stash. Might have to add a pack to it. Side subject: When did they start using uncuffed Hamilton prop? Or is that just a restoration thing?
