A current work in progress: O scale. Again for resale at the local hobbyshop.

Will be adding flooring, carpets, window glazing and external advertising signage.

And now a little more work.

  • Painted window trim.
  • 2 floors and roof installed
  • Added sidewalk

I have a couple of nice diecast Studebaker Champions in the stash. I think this is going to become a small Studebaker Dealership.

Not exactly structures but the hobbyshop had a bunch of these 1/43rd scale trucks. (Almost O scale) But they were not selling. So i got some assorted decals out of the shop’s decal files to add commerical and railroad logos to their doors and now they are selling like hot cakes (at a slightly higher price too!)

Here are some O scale structures - a guy in Florence, CO has the largest private collection of O scale items I’ve ever seen. They’re even in his rest room. This is but a very small sample:

Another recent rehab project was this small Lionel Power Station. While not rusted, the paint was heavily chipped and flaking off.
I used scotch tape to mask the windows and doors and then sanded, primered and repainted everything else.
I rather like the finished result.

Not really sure just what this structure was originally but it came to us badly broken and missing many parts.

So now I give you

Christmas really emptied out the built-up structure section at the Hobbyshop. So besides the Pole Factory seen above here are a few “odds and ends” rehabs done this week to restock.

Very realistic paint on the cottage. It’s a plastic kit, right? Did you also cut away some of the shingles along the eves?

The Cottage is an all wood craftsman style kit. No to cutting shingles. Those are the Campbell’s brown paper shingles and they have become irrigular on their own.

The only things plastic seen there are the gray steps and that small side porch without an awning/porch roof.

I am imagining this to be an old country Doctor’s residence with that third door being an entrance to his office.
