Should keep you busy for a few years lol … We are sadly missing a lot of decent BOAR kits , trucks and the like
Very intrested in watching your creation develope, hope to learn some tips and tricks. I’m guessing this is sometime in the 80’s? Not that familar with British armored operations.
Cajun:crocodile:
And into early 90’s depending on the scenario
I hope you are able to locate the 60 figures you need for the diorama. I have about 13 or so vehicles from the US Army in Europe, painted in MASSTER, from the early 70’s.
I’d love to be able to create a diorama as well, and would probably like to have a similar number of figures.
The problem is that while you can get a TON of US Army figures in WW II uniforms, plenty of US Army figures in the uniforms worn in Vietnam, and plenty of US Army figures from the Desert Storm and later eras, it would appear that except for the odd tank CREW members, nobody makes a variety of US Army figures in the fatigues worn by the Army from the mid-50’s through the early 80’s both in the US and especially in USAREUR.
Guess manufacturers don’t consider the “Cold” war a “real” war.
Yes,i agree the frustrations of kit makers and not understanding there ex military clientele, and those that study fastidiously, for there art,hey have no understanding of what we can all bring in the future, rebellion i say lol
Ne though i thigher thy word my prince, some where in there relates to blackadder, but anyway:wink:
What really grinds my gears to be effin honest with you is all modellers feel for a better more acurate kit,ok thats a given, gotta love a challenge though, here comes the aftermarket amazing folk, and the mortgage adviser lol.
My gripe is that the modelmaking medallions of the world corner the market, ching ching.
A"Sensai"which the true meaning of the word, means literally one who has gone before,in the modelling world we do not get it,its about the character of the kit how much time was spent upon that vehicle, how you were/they dressed,no matter the nation you are from.
If they truly know how to build a kit, then CAD is ok,but they must incorporate into this those equations, the wishes of those that went before them, should be honoured.
Instant monetary loss of millions,in there eyes, billions lost in listening and hearing the very people who keep it all alive, fochinell as a spitfire named his ride.
Get on board and start a rebel alliance lol
It is frustrating…
Just think;
All variants of Stalwart.
Ditto 432 family.
Ditto CVRT family to include Stormer as it’s now classed as a CVR…
Anything with a Saladin chassis.
All variants on a Chieftain Chassis
Bedford’s.
Fodens
Leyland DAF.
But no doubt, they will just bring out another Tiger or Sherman…
But I live in hope …
To build on that slightly,
CET.
1 ton Land Rover Forward Control.
CVR(W)s
Lynx AH Mk7
Yeap… Definitely all those as well… When you read them laid out like that there’s a lot of kits missing which I’m sure would be sure fire sellers…
and as if by magic …
Academy Tiger I Early | Armorama™
I know its only 1/72 … but you get the idea lol
Gecko models out of hong kong are holding onto this thinking, "where have we gone wrong get on it lads and lasses"there is demand here that is so overwhelming,we are missing the market by a mile.
Lasing,firing Now.
Stwike him down Centurweon lol
We also need modern British troops, and I mean modern with Virtus helmet, armour and webbing. Gecko Models have produced a very good weapons set, however the British Army are starting to field L85A3’s now, minimis are out of service and Matador is coming into service. These will all compliment the various modern vehicle kits out there (Jackal, Coyote, Husky, LR WMIK & Supacat ATMP)
I can certainly dream, however as felipfelop mentioned above Gecko seems ready to think in terms other than Sherman or Tiger!!
I have a vewy good fwiend in Wome you know … Why do they titter so ?? Do they widicule me ??? The all time classic comedy … watched at least once a month
It’s a toss up between Life Of Brian and Holy Grail - I can’t pick a favorite.
Has to be LoB, its constantly funny all the way through and the scene when they capture Brian and he is front of M Palin with J Cleese is probably the funniest bit of humour ever filmed, which almost gets out of control at some points (cast not being able to control their own laughter ) pure genius … HG is funny but not at the same constant level.
Wolfs nipple chips … get em while their hot lol … in fact sod it. I’m going to watch it now
I don’t know. The scene at the beginning of “The Great Santini”, when Robert Duvall agrees to tone down his group of Marine fighter pilots, and then proceeds into the ball room and breaks up the Navy Officers’ dance is right up there.
As I understand it, those members of the cast weren’t primarily actors, they mostly there as non-screen technical support. I believe other extras were just Brit tourists who were persuaded to participate. Similarly with Spike Milligan, who was also there on holiday visiting his old Tunisian battlefields from WW2. George Harrison, who financed the movie, has a very brief cameo in a crowd scene.
Amongst the countries who refused to allow it to be shown was Norway, therefore promotional posters in neighbouring Sweden read “So funny, it was banned in Norway!”…
Cheers,
M
