Hello all. I have finally made some progress on my Takom M4A1 (76) vvss that is slowly becoming an Israeli M1. The big parts are together so I could Mr Surfacer 500 all the lost cast texture. My example doesn’t have the blanket rack or spare track holders on rear hull. Needs new serial number on turret and that’s pretty much it.
I like the detail in the kit but still out on the suspension. Not a fan of the 2-part return skid and Takom could very easily have added the 4 bolt heads holding the return roll bracket. Just my two cents.

Thanks guys. I have been able to get a bunch done today on the hull. I remember reading somewhere about people not liking Tamiya extra thin for the Takom kits. I use Testors old fashioned liquid cement and what I have noticed is the parts don’t “weld” together quickly like Tamiya or Dragon plastic. Am I wrong? I am also getting close to making my Israeli cinnamon roll for the rear deck. This one, from the references, is a single roll. BTW, that is my converted Degem Alef Tamiya hull that will probably get the Takom turret at this point

Nice progress. I’ve used Tamiya Extra Thin Quick Setting on Takom kits and had excellent results.

I have gotten some more done on my M-1. On the hull it’s mostly PE left, a few things on the hatches, buckles for the straps, tow cable, and rear lights. The turret has a fitting for a cover around the smoke mortar, general build stuff, and new casting numbers.
