YouTube decided I needed to see this short video today.
It’s about spraying and fumes …
I do realize the requirements laid out are difficult. I tried to explain to my friend that his expectations are unrealistic, especially when he thinks a paint should cost $0.60 a bottle, like it did when he was a kid.
I am writing up a long email with the pros and cons of each suggestion, along with links to the paints. He can then decide for himself.
Wet paint palette keeps quick drying acrylics useable for days. Even the cheapest Hobby Lobby one works or even a plastic sealable container.
That is one of the few problems I have, they can be a bit delicate. But they survive my rough handling during a quite build well. Usually just wing and fin tops that can wear a bit. Quick touch up sorts it and after a coat of Tamiya clear spray they’re sealed and protected for good.
Might be worth checking out MicroMark. Brush on pretty well and low cost to entry.
I feel like this is an important factor. I get that your friend is not ready for airbrushing now, but not having to buy new paints when (or if) he ever gets there is a major plus.
