NEW 1/200 Hasegawa L1011 TWA thread

The old Hasegawa 1/200 L1011 thread is no longer. Kit was trashed and a new one purchased and started. Here is the new kit.

The build up to now, no more Tamiya white putty for the windows. I used gray Tamiya , 2 coats and waited 48 hours AFTER the last coat to sand. MUCH better.

Putty fill and sand.

Decals arrived yesterday.

Windows on both sides done, started filling seam on top side. Had a step of maybe 1/2 mm, actually not all that bad for a dated kit.

Wings on, wing roots puttied and need sanding along with top fuselage seam.

The seams are all sanded and ready to add more parts.

I have added the horizontal stabilizers.

I think you can see the tail leaning in the previous post. This shot shows it’s lean to the left better. I’m going to give it a dunk in hot water to help it along.

The tail is straightened and the 2 engines on the wings are glued in place.

Ready to add #2 engine then mask and paint.
