Hi Pete,
No, i’ve not brought from Black Snake, but their figures do look very good. This looks generic enough that it could be modern US SF in a Multicam uniform, I don’t see anything that limits this figure to Ukraine.
Further up this thread you can see the bust and 1/16 scale fig I bought from them. One of the two bust heads included does indeed have a Go-Pro on the helmet mount just like the sniper in the CAD image.
As per my original comment, there isn’t anything particularly “Ukrainian” about the figure, it is listed as, “American sniper in Ukraine Scale 1/9”… Pete, this one is for you!
The figure is well equipped, and nicely done, if a little static in pose.
I think that is a Barrrett MRAD although the buttstock looks a bit different.
@Newtonk You’re correct, Kylie, that it doesn’t have any markings to denote a Ukranian soldier, and Legend Productions makes 1/16 NVGs and helmet if the helmet is separate. It comes in 1/9, 1/16, and 1/35 scales.
Maybe, just maybe I’ll bite… But there are so many other competing figures out there like ALIENS Corporal Hicks…
So I went back with a view to buy this guy to paint in tiger stripe as that is one camo I’ve not done, see image, but I couldn’t convince myself it was worth it. The pose is rather ordinary and the figure is 30€ more than, for example, Airborne Miniatures. And I suspect it would be a single block of resin, ie no construction or options for how it’s built.
I’ll leave it where it is, thanks. I’d like it if Live Resin were more readily available. But then, that may not be a good thing either, if you get my drift.
It is a pose for the camera, not a combat pose. Some modelers may not like that since it denotes no purpose except to showcase oneself. It’s definitely not a bad pose, just that it has an “acquired taste.”
That said, the sniper is well balanced with a unique sniper rifle that can chamber several caliber rounds and four rifle magazines. It has a handgun with spare magazines and a few pouches. The body armor looks nice. As @Newtonk said, it has no markings to denote that it is in Ukraine.
With the amount of new figures BlackSnake Models is producing, I have a positive outlook that there will be something in the future that catches your eye.
Thank you for information , i realy need feedback for push forward I go change the price imédiatly , for the composition of the figure is not on one block all is separed. Look this picture for exemple :
Realy good inspiration, For this years we have lot of project ready , But is not modern (of course we continue to work on modern Soldier but we have made some 101st Airborne soldier of the ww2 at 1/35 and 1/16 scale . And set of 6 figure of MACV SOG during vietnam war sacle 1/35 and 1/16. We have finished two set of Kieffer Commando during WW2 at 1/35 and and 1/16 to.) I think is good for finish this year.
