My brother in law who is a crew member on a Shannon was very excited to share the news with me last night that Airfix will soon be releasing a 1:72 Shannon Class lifeboat with some money from kit sales being donated to the RNLI

Interesting subject matter. And looks really nice.
I have recently completed the “Severn” Class boat. Very nice. Quite a bit of detail, so much in fact, you cannot see it all. Fully detailed main cabin interior for instance! Still, a Unique Subject. My Hornby Rep notified me about the “Shannon”
Very nice kit indeed, I have one in my stash. As a starter kit it is well detailed, and I think the engineering and design of the kit is very good. I am looking forward to building it, when I get some space on my bench. Will be along for the ride if you blog you build.

The R.N.L.I now has my financial support as small as it is. I built the “Severn” class boat.The Cabin has a hidden but very well detailed interior.Tis’ a shame you can’t see much of it! The Shannon is next!
