Btw ordered the Ilovekit m-923 from hobbyeasy a day ago…now I wait
Hello.
I received my new I love kit M923. After a quick look, a very nice kit. Just a question. The kit provides a small tank on the right hand side, after the second stowage box. I think it’s a hydraulic tank, not for fuel and only installed on trucks with a front winch? I’m right or is there any other reason for it?
Thank you.
Andreas
Could be an indication about the release of a truck with winch (M925)?
Hans-Hermann, I agree with you!
If there’s no other function, you have to leave it off (for this kit version)
I forget where i read it but I believe it’s an extra oil tank…from my understanding it was originally a Marines modification because these trucks were oil hogs…could be wrong though
edit: yes think i mighta been wrong
here’s 2 pictures 1 without the tank and with the tank and has a winch…pictures for reference purposes only
with winch and tank

without winch
TM confirms that the extra tank is only used for winch hydraulic oil on M925 and M928 truck. I wonder if there are any follow-on versions of the kit planned? Judging from the instructions it must be hell-of-a-kit?
Andreas, can you scan the sprue view of the instruction? It might give an indication of any follow-on version(s)?
in both the italeri m-925 and the hobby fan m-936 conversion set the winch assemblies simply slide in to existing frame by way of tabs so there might not be any dead give aways…I do hope they release more versions though
question quartercav is the cab roof molded on? i see in the pic you uploaded at the bottom left what looks like a hard top cover for the cab but in the sprue shots the soft canvas cab top was moulded onto the cab itself…
Except for the oil tank, I can spot no parts the that indicate another version. But it should be easy for the to make another sprue with the winch.
For those interested, this side

has the TM´s for the M939 family.
Chris83, yes the cab roof is molded on and it’s a soft canvas. The complete design/build of the model is comparable to Trumpeter’s HEMTT or LMTVs.
Looks good. I will be getting one as well…eventually.
Once more Hans-Hermann, I agree with you.
I didn’t start the build yet, but think it’s a really good kit, much better then the older ones. And, a really good base for further versions!
I can`t help, but the design of the sprues looks similar to HobbyBoss. Maybe Ilovekit is just another brand from Trumpeter?
yes they are
I just ordered one of these new M939 trucks from eBay as well. I cannot wait to get it in my hands because to me it’s the best looking truck military ever produced.
