Hi Everyone,
I was into modeling when I was growing up in the late 60’s and early 70’s and then stopped in high school for sports,cars,jobs, & girls. Then after college, I rediscovered the joys of modeling and it’s been nonstop since then. My interest in this hobby has grown along with the number of kits in my stash. I build just about anything that interests me and currently I’ve been building sailing ships again. I retired from my profession four years ago and enjoy the extra time for modeling. Thanks for letting me join this forum.

The gang here is a mixed crew, some of us are crazier than the others but we manage
to keep a friendly tone and be helpful. It can get heated occasionally but the moderators try to contain it.
The forum software has a lot of features which you will learn about as time goes.
Asking questions gives others a chance to provide assistance so ask as much as you want/need.
We have a lot of different backgrounds so collectively we have a vast knowledge base.

Welcome Tom. I’ve only recently joined but found it pretty great here. Lots of experience here and all prepared to share it.
Even though I’ve been underperforming in the mogelling department lately I’m hoping to do a build log soon once I find all my stuff (just got our stuff moved back from overseas). Our garage now looks like the final scene from ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ and I believe I saw a box of missing footage from the Kennedy assassination next to something marked ‘X Files’.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work once you get settled.

Welcome Tom…and unfortunately straight away one of our collective has disclosed our secret, all this modelling stuff is actually just a cover for mogelling – our research into “woolly or furry growths of tiny fungi” (as described in a google search) which will hopefully yield the elixir of eternal life, or at least keep us all permanently stoned. It’s a Swedish word, so it’s no coincidence that our moderator (aka Uncle Heavy) is of that nationality.

Am I in the collective?!? Here was me thinking I was just picking mould out of my belly button lint…

Yes Sam you have been assimilated, we used to have a bot to remove unwanted (as opposed to wanted) navel mould but – well y’know, budget cuts. Anyhow Tom will also discover Resistance is Futile. There you go, I see above that Uncle Heavy Is Watching just as I foretold.
