It’s not even listed on their site yet. I guess we’ll have to get some photos of tbe actual printed parts, not just CADs, to see how good it is.
Hello Handsome, what your name then?
Here’s a link to the item
30004 Conversion set for Trumpeter 05105 to 1/35 MH47G Chinook | Aladdin Model
With out seeing the actual parts, the image of the nose cad looks a bit too droopy. Kinda throws the whole look off. But, If you can scale it down to 1/48, its the only game in town.
I did two walkarounds of these, about ten years apart. I can’t comment definitively on the nose as it may be a later version. There are features on it that differ from my photos. However, that is not the engine found on the G model. And it apears to lack the supports for the infrared exhaust suppressor. With good references you could do your own. It’ll need to be reworked, It’s also missing the prominent sniper seat. If there were better images of the built kit I might be able to comment further on it,
A noble effort, but for now I’ll pass.
Yup, same. Kuddo’s for giving it a go but its just lacking so many things. I don’t mean to sh*t on the guy for doing what nobody else is willing to do, but it would take a lot of work to finish it right.
It’s really unfortunate that Diego Romero at Xtream Modelers Studio couldn’t come through with his 1/48 MH-47G conversion. It looked absolutely fantastic but most, if not everyone who paid for a set was ripped off, including me.
What we need first is a better 1/48 as a base. The Italeri kit, while not bad, has toylike panel lines that are a PITA to fill in. I’d rather have a smooth fuselage with no lines, and draw them on my self with a pencil.
How did you get ripped off?
Edit:
I took a moment to look at my references while waiting for water to boil (who has time to model on weekends?) and another thing jumped out at me - the absence of this:
I’m not going to spend any more time looking at this conversion as my mind had already been made up. But anyone buying it - you were warned.
