The new one states ‘late’ production.

No idea what the differences are, it’s weird and ugly which means I like it!

Just check out the location of the fuel tanks. On the late variant they have been moved to the rear.
(to improve buoyancy IIRC)

What’s that expression again?
A face only a mother could love?
The modern equivalent would be ‘fugly’.

I need one! If only for the ugliness

Yeah, that’s how I feel it too!

I love the subject matter - the Otter scores high on the Fugly meter and that grabs me. An American Landwasserschlepper. However, I have an admission to make - after 5 starts under my belt, (and no finishes) I do not like Gecko kits.
They are too over engineered, with unnecessarily small parts and lousy, sometimes nonexistent attachment points. Sometimes the sprue gate is bigger than the part. They’re just PITA nasty kits for me.

They announced the early one almost six month ago and it´s not avaliable yet. I sincererly think that Gecko are just playing the “hook” game with us, showing “releases” just to see if they have real interest before produce it.

Honestly, I think we will NEVER see those kit released (better go for the resin one).

As far as I am aware, EVERY kit that Gecko has announced to date has been released at some point, typically within a year, so that’s not a fair statement.

And by resin kit, you mean the Hobby Link one (which I have and is well done like all of HL’s items), that is an early one, so if you want a later one you would need to do some modifications or purchase the forthcoming Gecko one shown here.

I have a buddy who had the same experience in one of their truck kits.
