It seems to me that Dual-Tex would just use the same colors as the MERDC four-color camouflage, since it was just breaking up the MERDC patterns into blocks, so there wouldn’t need to be a separate Dual-Tex-specific set – or was it only demonstrated using the ‘Winter Verdant with Open Terrain’ colors?

Dual-Tex was INTENDED to us all the same colors and color combinations as MERDC. However, it was only used in the Winter Verdant colors in the 2ACR in Germany.

That’s what I suspected, so it makes some sense if you’re going to recreate the vehicles that were painted for the demo project to have a paint set with just the colors that were actually used, since you’d only need the full dozen of the MERDC palette if you were doing ‘what if’ vehicles based on Dual-Tex being accepted as a standard.

I am interested in MERDC myself. That first set looks pretty close for desert grey. I might try a set.

I recommend that you get them. Back when I was doing acrylics, I bought sets from every brand - AMMO, AK 3rd Gen, Vallejo, Akan, Hataka, and Lifecolor. Lifecolor is the easiest to shoot and brush paint, highest quality and most accurate color among them IMHO. It’s a little hard to find at times but worth the effort. Beautiful paint.

Lifecolor are excellent paints, the only negative I have is the pots-so many dried up, even tightly closed. They are the easiest to spray from the acrylics and the finish is very smooth.

Yes I have experienced that as well. And I only purchased them at the end of last year. Weird

How bad is the drying out problem?
A couple of years back I bought their Italian Army cammo set I’ve not had a chance to use them yet.

I had the exact same problem: nice paints, dried up after a few uses because the pots don’t seal well.

Mine are still unused and unopened. Gave them a shake and they’re still liquid. Could be more of a problem with opened bottles not sealing properly like you say. Used to have the same problem with Humbrol and Revell enamel tins.

I have two sets that I bought about a year ago and Ive only used them once or twice and they do seem to have a problem sealing completely. Not sure what’s going on but I screw the lids down very tight.

I keep my Lifecolor lids on very tight and mine are all still liquid, all over 5 years old.

Yeah I have just a little crust around the bottle neck which I carefully remove.

Store the paint lid down and issue is fixed.

I also store my LifeColor lid down and have had no issues for 5 years.

I always have a problem with lifecolor when I paint with airbrush although diluted with his thinner; which % you use?
Used with brush I’m very satisfied
