New Tamiya M36

Just received this from a friend with good sources. Seems legit. I’m stoked.

I just bought a tamiya M10 yesterday from Andy’s and was just hoping someone would do a proper M36!!

It will be a typical boring kit with no periscopes, solid grab handles, knock out pins everywhere, etc…

Having wrestled with the Academy kit, this will be refreshing. I thought the M10 was excellent. But yes, the lack of deployed periscopes are notable for their absence.

Have to leave something for the aftermarket business

I’ll have to check my favorite vender of bits n bobs (Tiger Models Design) for appropriate scopes. Pretty sure he does something…

Finally! It’s about time!

this is good news despite the fact it’s missing some fine detail, which tamiya is kinda known for.

See what interior detail was left out and you can make an update set.

I agree tamiya lacks fine detail, but I can almost guarantee this one will be accurate unlike the AFV club offering

Tamiya kits can be a really nice pallet cleanser between Miniart and dragon type builds

Tamiya box art is great. Simple, but good.

Saw this a few minutes ago on Scalemates.

I’m happy and I’ll try to buy it before the tariffs kick in. Tamiya is still one of my favorite manufacturers. The crew figure looks good.

I’ll await the reviews before I buy - at my build rate glaciers would melt before I got round to it anyway!

Our US brethren can take comfort that Tamiya is Japanese, not Chinese, so the tariff will be fairly low…

All,
I just received an email from Tamiya America that the kit will be available in late July 2025:
