New tool multimedia Arizona kit

Dont ask…Dont tell…

Why does no one make USS Nevada? Arizona was tragic, but Nevada was the only battlewagon to get underway Dec. 7. Took a torpedo (AND shot down the bastard that dropped the torpedo!) and 6 bombs. Refloated , repaired, covered Overlord and Dragoon. Back to the Pacific… took a couple shore battery hits and a kamikaze. THEN shrugged off 2 NUKES … shelling by an Iowa class BB, and a hand full of cruisers… couple DD torpedoes. Finally after another torpedo from a TBF she said “FTS!” and slipped beneath the wave… yet I’ve only seen 1 (National debt) expensive 1/700 resin kit of her. NOTE: Val is wrong. Dive bomber that attacked Nevada were from Kaga (2 red bands), not Soryu (single blue) …

There are lots of US Battleships that deserve to be released in 1/350 scale.

Nevada, Utah, Colorado, West Virginia, California, Pennsylvania, Wyoming etc

Unfortunately what ifs get more attention than those ships.

We could also use a new KGV mold, new Hood mold, a plastic Vanguard kit not to mention all those magnificent WWI era British Battleships like Iron Duke

The hull of the Arizona kit is what every ship kit hull should be. All the detail is there. Only the new toolings for Yamato and similar, plus the Hasegawa Nagato and their other releases had this level of hull detail.

I agree with the quality of this kit and its contents but $330 for a 1/350 ship kit is getting in the 1/200 ship kit price range. To me if you have your heart set on building the best 1/350 Arizona then this kit is it but I’d probably spend my money on a 1/200 ship kit.

No worries, looking at the detail parts on the Konigsberg, they were better than some larger scale kits. I might have a go at another of their kits, but it will be an RN cruiser or destroyer,

Cheers, Si

May I suggest an L-Class destroyer such as HMS Lance

The K-Class Kelly is fairly similar. I’m still waiting for Flyhawk to release a Tribal Class, which they have been claiming for several years. Or the cruisers Ajax, or Achilles
Which took part in the action against Graf Spee.
Trumpeter has a larger selection of heavy cruisers, but they’re not quite as nice as Flyhawk, and they don’t come with as much dedicated PE either

Thank-you for the suggestions, HMS Lance, L & M class, always like the look of, both with the 4.7" and the AA variant with the 4". Ajax or Achilles, both at River plate. , however since Mrs Duster is a Penny, I might go for HMS Penelope.

I’d like to see a 350th scale Colony class cruiser, particularly HMC Ships UGANDA or ONTARIO.
