Because it is not an M14, but the M14A1 Squad Automatic Rifle.

“The M14A1 was a modified M14 rifle designed for use as a squad automatic weapon during the Vietnam War. It featured a pistol grip, folding foregrip, folding buttplate, and bipod, aiming to improve its controllability and effectiveness in full-automatic fire.”
