ICM has shown in their 2024 catalog a very nice accessory for 1/35 helo modelers and diorama builders; Vietnam-era M8A1 Landing Mat. This is what was laid down to make solid landing pads for helicopters and parking areas for aircraft at remote bases in Vietnam. This is most welcomed and should come in handy.

FYI: Using a length-wise configuration I was able to achieve this mat size: 8.27" (210 mm) x 12.325" x 313 mm) with two leftover short plates… give or take a skosh.
Note: I’ve only assembled the end-to-end strips with PVA Glue, the lengths are dry-fit and the sides lock-together nicely with alignment tabs.

Nice. So, it comes out to about 13" x 9 1/2" to us Americans. Looks like a good size.
8 3/8" x 12 3/8" give or take a skosh.
