I have the Tristar kit, fully built and painted, figures too, then I got to the tracks, and back in the box it went. They’re beautiful, but there is no amount of magnification I can use to see and build them!! So, I’ll probably get this one at some point

Since they’re gonna do a Panzer I, I do hope that they branch out and do some of the related vehicles on the same hull such as the Marder I, Bison, and Befehlspanzer I.

Hmmm methinks a Matilda 1 would have been better than (another) Panzer 1. I still live in hope after tamiya issued their R 35.

Given Tamiya’s track record, they won’t do the Bison I, Panzerjager I, etc. With very few exceptions, they’re not big on variants. I’d love to be proven wrong, though.

Oh I don’t know. They do tend to slowly work through some variants using a common hull. They just don’t do it too quickly, or on large families, the complete variant line. But they do tend to work more variants of their WWII German AFVs than other subjects. Particularly with their new retool kits. I do doubt that they’ll ever adopt Dragon’s m.o. of so many subtle sub variants though…

Aaaaannd this model just showed up at Scale Hobbyist for $24.99 US. (That is the price showing in my cart.)
Really happy that Tamiya continues to compete at the low price end of the hobby market with brand new kits of full tanks.
/signed for Tamiya to release more Panzer I based vehicles. Not the driving school one without the top. The cool ones with guns. Bang! Bang!

Looking good. I saw on the net at www.tankencyclopedia very interesting camouflage colours to use on it. With this there is probably scope for the panzerbefehlswagen 1 or other versions like the anti tank or artillery tank. I would give the panzerbefehlswagen a try I think. Greetings to y’all. André
