NEWS: Trumpeter 1/35 M915 Gun Truck

Trumpeter has announced a gun truck version of their M915 truck. This will be most welcomed and should be really nice as their basic M915 is very detailed.

These were seen in Iraq in the early days following the invasion in '03 to guard convoys.

an interesting subject matter and something I’d buy.

the second picture is a little worrying as there seems to be an unattended weapon left propped up against the front tyre…me thinks private snuffy is going to get a right bollocking for that one.

Miniman used to do this beauty in resin. I managed to snatch one of the last kits, because it was just too good to miss.

The person holding the camera is keeping an eye (or lens) on it …

1: Hard to use the camera and hold the M-16 (And the guy with the camera PROBABLY had an M-9 on his chest.) 2: how close do you think he guy on the Ma Deuce is going to let anybody get to it before turning them into a pink mist?

With armored vehicles in the U.S. Army, what is the need for such trucks?

The armoured vehicles are not assigned to transport/logistics units
since they operate at a safe distance behind the front lines (except when guerillas,
insurgents, sabotage teams, recon troops ALSO operate on the “other”
side of the frontline)

I thought the same standard armored vehicles could handle the escort. I received such a set today, I am very pleased.

Welcome to the forum. As with most things in the US Army, field expediency in the Army led to standard practices later on.
