Over on the TWENOT forums, we’ve been having an old-school Tamiya group build. I just finished my entry, so I thought I’d post it here too:
Loved that kit when I was much younger. Are there different scales ? You did also the backside of the wall ? Looks great !
Which “that kit” are you referring to, exactly? The Tamiya 1:35 Panzer II or the Matchbox 1:76 Panzer II? ![]()
The back of the wall is deliberately rougher than the front, because on the Matchbox diorama it’s hollow, but that’s kind of hard to replicate with styrofoam and wall filler ![]()
That kit in those times was the Matchbox. I loved the whole seria, and some decades later I got some for nostagia.
What a great job you did!
That Tamiya kit is what the first ones I ever built. Like somebody else wrote, I love that kit, still do. Fact, about 30 years ago, I bought and built it again. Used some weird latex paints from The Foundry. It turned out to be the first model I ever sold on evilBay, for whopping 66 bucks LOL.
Thanks
I built the Tamiya Panzer II kit probably 35 years ago, painted it as an Afrikakorps vehicle with Verlinden dry transfer markings, but I couldn’t find it for inclusion in the photos ![]()
