With the recent announcement by the Canadian Government that the Snowbirds demonstration team would be standing down at the end of the 2026 season, I got a bit nostalgic. I’ve been going to my local airshow every year it has been on since 1981. I have seen those Tutors fly time and again, always to be amazed and proud that there was still a Canadian-designed jet flying such great displays. I, like others, was saddened to think that after this year, the Tutor will be extinct.
So, as a modeller, what did I do? I dug out my recently acquired Hobbycraft Tutors and decided to give them a go! It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of these, and they are almost as nostalgic as the Snowbirds demonstrations themselves!
