Has anyone in the US ordered directly from quinta studios recently? They have some decal sets made by others that I would like.

I was successful. It took quite a time for the package to arrive.

Several times, including very recently. Make sure to triple-check your address info. before finalizing your purchase. For reasons unknown, it helps to choose PayPal rather than other card payment options. Communication is relatively good. Shipping… well, overseas shipping is what it is these days. :person_rowing_boat:… HTH.

Just tried again and no conformation email comes thru. His loss.

I’ve gotten a couple of orders direct from them over the past couple of months. I seem to remember there was some issue getting initially registered for an account. Maybe it was having to wait a day or two for the email to arrive, and maybe checking the spam folder too. In any case, once getting registered, it’s been smooth.

Edit: I found the post on LSP I made a couple of years ago when I was having trouble.

It took a while for the email to come through. You just have to wait. Don’t keep trying to register again or do the forgotten password stuff.

FYI, in many regions outside the US the verification of credit card info is much more stringent than in the US. This often makes it difficult for US customers to make online purchases, as the US card issuers do not provide the same kind of verification methods needed (if any). However, I cannot say that this is true for Kazakhstan, where QuintaStudio is located, or whether it’s a vendor specific issue.

As an example, in Sweden, we’re not allowed to process mail in/phone in credit card orders.

PayPal, despite all their other issues, solves a lot of these problems.

Ouch. It amazes me that in 2026 so many online things are still clunky. A couple of years ago one of the Really Big Hotel Chains website stopped working for Firefox. I called and they asked me to try a different browser. After a few months it started working again…

I gave up trying after a few attempts. I can find their products somewhere else.

Quinta Studios was originally founded in Russia. About mid-2023, the business established a legal entity in Kazakhstan (Shymkent) for operational and international shipping/payment processing purposes.

Following international sanctions and payment restrictions on Russia, the company shifted certain e-commerce and shipping operations to Kazakhstan (such as dispatching orders from cities like Shymkent) perhaps to bypass payment platform blocks, while maintaining its core operations tied to Russia.

Generally, there can be payment platform issues (PayPal, credit cards, etc.) with respect to international sanctions and where customers are located, including customers in the US. These issues can affect account creation. In other words, PayPal, your credit card issuer, etc., may block payments to certain locations affected by sanctions. That can in turn affect account creation.

Likewise, US scale model and aftermarket vendors are still unable to ship products to customers in Russia. Although the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) resumed international shipping to Russia via First-Class International Package on May 15, 2026, scale models and associated products do not comply with current U.S. export and customs rules for Russia. Scale models (HS customs code 9503) are classified as “luxury items” and therefore fall under trade sanctions imposed by the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) under the U.S. Department of Commerce.

If we as an aftermarket vendor attempt to ship models to Russia, the U.S. customs system will automatically flag such a shipment, which will result in its rejection, interception, or confiscation even before the actual export from the country.

There can be serious legal and civil consequences for us if U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) intercepts and confiscates a package, even before it physically leaves the United States. Under U.S. export control laws, the “attempt” to export prohibited or unlicensed goods is treated as a violation just like a completed export. In that event, the US Government could:

  1. Place individuals or companies on restricted lists, blocking future export rights.
  2. Criminal Prosecution: If the export violation is deemed willful or part of a larger scheme to evade federal sanctions, it can be prosecuted as a federal felony carrying steep criminal fines and prison time.
